Smith Bread & Café

Located in the quiet neighbourhood of Bukit Damansara, Smith café is the place for wood-fired baked sourdough. Yes, their sourdoughs come out from the wood-fire oven with that rustic fragrant char! I got to know this from a friend who loves bread a lot. I then visited this place twice in a week, for their wood-fired baked sourdough and the legendary German pancake (this is another must order!)

Their breakfast menu is pretty simple, consists of wood-fired baked sourdough bread that comes with or without your choice of eggs, pancakes, French toasts and rosti. The brunch menu starts at 11am onwards, comprises more options such as toasties, big brunch platter and burgers. If you love their baked goods, you can even pack some sourdough and brioche home too!

Beef Brisket Toasties (Rm 38)
Slow-roasted Black Angus beef brisket, mozzarella, sharp cheddar, dijon mustard, mayo sandwiched in between the country sourdough bread and served with pickles. I took the first bite and I was immediately wow-ed by it. There were melted fats interlacing with the tender Angus beef brisket. Super delicious! Till now, I couldn’t forget how melty and delicious it was.

Classic German Pancake (Bismarck)
Originated from German immigrants to the US; inspired by the German version of pancakes, it was eggy and beautifully puffed up, drizzled with honey and garnished with a square slice of butter. This pancake was very addictive, with crispy crust but thin custard liked center; packed with sweet and savoury combo when butter melted and blended well with honey. Must must must order when you are here. There is a need of 15 to 20 minutes of waiting time for this. Do be patience on it, it is really worth waiting.
