3Geori Butcher’s is always in my TO EAT LIST if ever I have the chance to go to Korea. I found out about this place from a Taiwanese food trail programme where the hosts tried out the delicious BBQ meat in Samgeori Butcher’s, Hongdae. I was drooling over the TV, seeing them biting off the meats in their mouth. Slurrrp.
Well, need not travel far for this anymore because I can now satisfy the cravings in Samgeori Butcher’s, YG Republique KL! Yahoooo!
One of the coolest food concept restaurants in town that is located at Hive block at TREC KL; along with K Pub, which is also part of the YG Republique KL. 3Geori Butcher’s is a BBQ grill restaurant that serves premium pork and beef. They use only iberico pork from Spain, offers types of premium cuts that are cured in Cypress Pine to add flavour and texture. High quality beef with special cuts are carefully-chosen and cured for optimum flavour too before serving the patrons.
YG Republique’s grand opening is happened not too long ago where BIGBANG’s member Seungri made special appearance on that day; along with his label mates from Natural High Record – Danu, Glory and TPA, K Plus supermodels Yeon Hui and Soh Hee and K-Pop stars – the multi-talented singer-songwriter, radio DJ and TV Personality Jung Joon Young and FT Island Leader and guitarist Choi Jong-Hoon. You can now find their precious autograph on the wall. Spot your idol’s autograph? Fancy a selfie?
I sampled the Butcher’s Sampler for 2 pax (Rm 170), comes with 150g of iberico pork neck, 150g pork shoulder and 120g pork belly; with a total of 420 grams of meat. Each set comes with a soup of your choice of kimchi jigae, soybean paste soup or hot pepper soup.
Unlike the usual Korean restaurant, banchan here comes with kimchi, white kimchi and more on pickled vegetables. These banchan boost up the appetite and wash off the grease that left on the palate. Another special point, you wouldn’t find the fresh lettuce for wrapping the meat over here but there are prepared as salad dish to go along with their special dressing.
Ohh love this spring onion with a stir of raw egg yolk. It’s really the pork’s best friend!
Here came the star, served in a vintage way with newsprint wrapping.
Look at the snowy white marbling against the pinkish meat. *drool*
The staff will check the hotplate with a thermometer to get to know when is the optimum temperature for grilling. You will just have to sit back and relax because the staffs will grill them for you. Also, need not worry you will be walking out like barbequed-meat as ventilation in Samgeori Butcher’s is excellent! Can see that they have invested a lot on the suction ventilator.
Beautiful sexy glossy grilled iberico pork on the grill. Of the 3 types of pork, I fancied the pork neck the most! It was chewy and bouncy. Remember to pair the meat with the house’s special dipping sauce – garlic and mustard dipping sauce. Oh boy, so yummy covering the meat with this sauce.
Samgeori Kimchi Stew that comes with the sampler set. Kimchi soup that dosed with pork belly and they came in huge chunks! Gimme a bowl of rice please. That sourish spicy hot piping soup was indeed a comfort dish. Best to have it during rainy day too!
Butcher’s Pork Fried Rice (Rm 50 for 2) was another addictive bits. A stir of egg white and its yolk with the fried rice, it was fragrant with the ass-kicking spiciness. I can’t go for next round though.
Revisit?! Yes Yes! Though it priced slightly on the higher side, I will definitely be here again for my lovely iberico pork. Pork fans or YG entertainment fans, must make your way here ya!
