Artisan’s Playground by COOKHOUSE

Located here at The Riverwalk, Third Mile Jalan Ipoh, this huge space offers a whole new dining experience to the diners. This space is designed as a “playground” to group up the chef and artisans under one roof, so that the diners get to savour and try out a variety of best dishes under the roof.

Here, you may get your cuppa of caffeinated dose from Drum Coffee Roaster, juicy-licious lobster roll from Mobster Lobster by Mad Chef, Melbourne inspired dishes from Mabel and Tucker, wood fire oven pizzas from The Pie Guys, and many many more. Also not to forget to end your meal with delicate and elegant petit gateau from Voila by Otto & Loi.

Oh, there are also flaky buttery pastries by Flaaah. These are really tempting!

Ahhhh, plump plump croissants!

In short, this space is like a hawker but a rather high-end one, with a more sophisticated comfortable area that comes in an “atas” feel. On the down side, price can be quite steep with the given portion I got (I tried Tucker). But then again, this allows you to order a few others dishes to try out at a limited stomach space.

It is pretty cool to dine in here. This place uses the advance cashless paying method where you made your order by scanning a QR code at the table, place your order and pay with your mobile. Then, the food will be served to your table by the cute little kitty robot.

We ordered theTucker’s Moderate Tucker (Rm 88) that is fit for 2 to 3 pax, comes with 5 dishes, good for sharing. Below, I have also included the price for a la carte order on each dish so that you can have a comparison.

Folded Scrambled Egg (Rm 21)
Folded scrambled egg with smoked salmon, pickled celery and citrus-kosho kosho emulsion on sourdough toast.
A delightful toast with juicy scrambled egg and the combination with its toppings were a perfect match!

Prawn and crab rillettes on fluffy brioche with compressed apple, crispy kale and soft herbs

Roasted Capsicum and Eggplant on Sourdough Toast (Rm 18)
Roasted Capsicum and Eggplant with house-made whipped ricotta and gremolata on sourdough toast.
This toast was surprisingly good! Very flavourful eventhough it is made of all vege and cheese; that special gremolata is really something. Yum!

Pulled Spiced Beef and Potato Hash (Rm 25)
Pulled spiced beef brisket with house-made potato hash, pickled fennel and apple, soft herbs, poached egg and miso hollandaise. Another must try, really yummmmm!

House-made Straw Fries (Rm 12)
House-made straw fries with rosemary coffee salt and spicy mayonnaise
I love fries, just any kind of fries. Love this thin sticks straw fries, if only it is made crispier, that will be perfect.

I takeaway this delicate Kappu (Rm 27), the petit gateau from Voila by Otto & Loi.
Layered with lychee raspberry jelly, berries confit, vanilla pod cream, cassis whipped ganache, pistachio sponge and pistachio croustillant, it was refreshing like summer, nutty and very lovely!
