Strangers at 47 @ Section 17, PJ
Strangers at 47
Are no longer the strangers on the street.
It was a Saturday afternoon and I was here for a late lunch. Wow, the place was stormed with crowds and there was a short queue till our turn to be seated.
Strangers at 47, a relatively new café that popped up at the quieter side of the shoplots in section 17, sharing the same row with The Grind Burger Bar and I’m Spicy Thai. Specializing in crepe, they offer a selection of crepes that comes in sweet and savoury. Yay, there are more interesting savoury crepe place around the city. So crepe is not just a type of desserts, but mains too!!!
Latte (Rm 9)
Iced coffee (Rm 10)
Knowing it would take time for our orders to arrive, we munched on this Sweet Potato Fries (Rm 7). Quite an addictive bit before we dig in the mains.
Shore To Please (Rm 21.5)
Savoury crepe filled with cajun tiger prawns, battered squid, spinach, caramelised onion, roasted cherry tomato and salted egg yolk. Such a beauty; for the sight and the scent and the taste. This was an interesting blend, with the savoury prawns and squids and salted egg yolk to go with the sweet veges; the crepe was thin and fluffy. Most importantly, it was served piping hot. Delicious! Definitely worth waiting for it.
Lethal Shrooms (Rm 19.5)
Love mushrooms?! Here are all the mushrooms hidden in the lightly herbed crepe. Stuffed with portobello, shimeji, baby king oyster mushrooms, spinach, caramelised onions, tomato relish; dressed balsamic reduction and touched with a poached egg.
Eggy madness.
Dark Side (Rm 10)
Chocolate lovers, this is for you. Thin chocolate crepe stuffed with thick layer of dark chocolate spread (Yummy!), white chocolate curls, drizzled with orange caramel and topped with a scoop of chilling vanilla ice cream.
A very interesting crepe house that managed by the young and very polite people! Do hope they can maintain their standard well (my friend who went weeks earlier than me had a bad experience and her crepe was served cold), continuing serving good crepes and experiment on new recipes, especially the savoury part. However, due to the heavy crowds in the place, one might need to shout a bit over the table and wait a little long for your orders to be served. Well, be patience as I find it worth waiting. I just can’t wait to hop over again! I haven’t explore most of their sweet one and the It’s Kelapa and Purple Rage sounds interesting!!!
