November’s Chef Tasting Menu @ Yoshinari, Plaza Damas 3

Yoshinari NEVER fails; I had a super satisfying dinner last month. Yoshinari’s Chef Tasting Menu in November was very impressive, came with 8 courses that included appetiser, soup dish, sashimi, grilled dish, small dish, warm dish, rice dish (or sometimes noodles dish) and a dessert.

Engi Patisserie @ Taman Taynton View, Cheras

Pretty happy to see this Engi Patisserie pops up here in the neighbourhood where I am staying, I don’t have to travel far when I need a breakfast or dessert fix!

Engi Patisserie 緣起

Located in Taman Taynton View, Engi Patisserie changes the scene of this neighbourhood that is fully filled with kopitiam and Chinese restaurants. This is a simple yet cosy café, offering coffee, desserts, pastries and some simple comfort food. The variety of the pastries is pretty huge; I often come over for a cup of coffee to pair with their croissant or pain au chocolat for breakfast, “self-pretending” the Emily in Paris. Once a while, I will pop by for their elegant looking petit gateaux too. Oh, their salmon and broccoli quiche is really good; very buttery and creamy and super rich (sorry no photo of it)!

Eat and Cook (1)

Eat and Cook has got to be the hottest restaurant in town, and I heard they are booked out for whole April! Wooohooo!

Eat and Cook

Headed by the young talented duo, Chef Lee and Chef Yong; serving “Omakase” style course using the finest and freshest seasonal ingredients and most of their ingredients are sourced from our homeland (so proud to hear this!). Omakase is something we often find it in Japanese restaurant where you leave the menu to your most trusted chef, and enjoy what the chef makes for you.

Eat and Cook (3)

Here in Eat and Cook, the chefs adopt the “Omakase” concept too. They will decide your course and cook right in front of you. What you need to do is just come with an appetite to eat, savour what the chefs have created, and enjoy them with all your senses.

I just “came back” from Japan, virtually; visited the Ikeda Town in Nagano Prefecture to be exact. It was a short ‘half day tour’ but it was a very fruitful one. Special thanks to Mr Danny Leong, the Master Sake Sommelier and also the owner
