GOODDAM @ The HUB SS2, PJ
Located in The Hub SS2, GOODDAM is not a usual Italian restaurant. It is a modern Italian-inspired restaurant leaded by a young and passionate team, who love to explore, dishing out dishes that are touched with inspirations mainly comes from the regional Italian cuisine and fresh seasonal local produce.
GOODDAM has been in my list for the longest time, since they open. Finally I am able to drag a bff to check them out. We went for the Gooddam 3-Course Weekend Lunch Menu that comes with starter, main and dessert, priced at Rm 125++ per pax. Menu seems to change every 2 months. The menu I had this round is for March and April. Options for each course are rather limited, but I was very satisfied with the choices we made. I am not a big fan of pasta but their pasta dishes really wow-ed me. They are something really different, bursting with multi flavours.
White for me, and Rose for the bff
Passimento Romeo & Juliet Bianco, Veneto Italy (Rm 42 for 125ml)
Elegant white with strong apricot citrusy note.
Obviously I was caught up with its apricot note description.
Studio by Miraval Rose, Cotes de Provence, France (Rm 45 for 125ml)
Floral bouquet with hints of strawberry and grapefruits.
Rosemary Focaccia and Truffle Butter
Ohhh, love that very aromatic truffle butter spread along with the thin crust with fluffy center focaccia, served fresh from the oven. So yum!
Leek & Potato Cream Soup
Creamy rich soup with potato cubes and fried shredded potato to elevate the whole texture to the soup dish.
Snapper Tartare (at a top up of Rm 25)
Grape vinaigrette, oregano, watermelon radish
A refreshing and appetite boosting starter, which made us looks forwards to our next main dishes happily.
Pork Cheek Ragu Garganelli
Pasta, kaffir lime gremolata
This was extremely flavourful, the egg based pasta was made right to al dente, very cute in its cylindrical shape; with melt in mouth tender braised pork cheek and the kaffir lime gremolata added an extra citrusy tang to the pasta. I really love this, it was a kind of flavour (in a pasta dish) I have never had before! Very comforting!
Smoked Ricotta Cappelletti
Roasted tomato butter, pickled pumpkin
Another impressive pasta dish. Ring-shaped Italian pasta which I found it quite look-alike the dumpling, looking cute and tasty with smoky ricotta, tangy and savoury.
Brown Butter Ice Cream
Black Olive, Poached Pear, Balsamic DOP
Quite an exotic combination with sweet, tangy and savoury at a time. That cotton candy added up a magical moment too!
Heavily soaked with espresso and alcohol. My friend loved this and happily soaking in euphoria. Yum!
Cheers to our friendship!
