Nimbus Restaurant

Nestled in the busy hub Damansara Uptown, Nimbus Restaurant is an interesting casual fine-dine restaurant that worth checking out! My friend and I went for their Nimbus 4 Course Lunch Menu (only available on Saturdays and Sundays) which is priced at Rm 138 per pax; which we find it quite value for money. We were fascinated by the creative combination of the dishes. The dishes were delicious especially their first courses, main courses and sweet endings!

Grilled Aubergine
Creamy coconut chicken, pickled pumpkin, flaxseed
Ahhh, I am a big fan of eggplant and I like how the chef creatively turns the eggplant into something really wowing. It was aromatic with the rich creamy coconut chicken, packed with multi-textures and punched with flavours.

Oyster Royale
Truffle jus, herring roe
Very chawanmushi-liked, silky smooth steamed egg custard packed with oyster essence in it and topped with herring row and truffle jus.

Seasonal Soup
Came beautifully and smoky in this classy-looking bowl, the soup was a little over sweet to our liking but the sweetness was brilliantly toned down by the bread piece and pickled radish (? , I think) that served along with the creamy soup.

We found second courses were a little ordinary as compared to the first course, maybe we were too astounded by the our first course’s dishes. LOL.

Prawn Bisque Noodle
Grilled river prawn with gochujang, bunga kantan, ikura
An appealing combination with house-made egg noodles in the broth that was heavily packed with prawn and sea essence, topped with ikura and side with a huge grilled river prawn! The noodles was very springy, with texture like wanton noodles; one mouthful of the noodles, you could taste the distinctive aromatic flavours of bunga kantan. That prawn was larger than my hand!

Ohhh, this wowed us the most! Like peanut butter and jelly sandwich, it was made into this beautiful sweet and savoury plated dessert, nutty at the same time.

Rich, creamy, bittersweet chocolaty gateau with sourish cherry and vanilla ice cream. A rich sweet ending.
