SAI SAI Japanese Restaurant 菜彩

A simple no frills Japanese Restaurant, taking up half-a-shoplot here in Plaza Damas, SAI SAI Japanese Restaurant is truly a hidden gem, dishing out their best Japanese home cooked dishes.

Dining in SAI SAI makes me feel like transported straight back to Japan. Just like what we get the scene in Japanese drama, with Japanese families coming in, also the salary men settle their dinner here after work, gulped down a glass of really chilled beer or highball before heading home.

I was hoping for the presence of oden that night, the perfect comfort dish to savour on a raining evening. Sadly, it was not available. Guess I will have to frequent here again to catch on this special dish.

Kizu Tempura
Or known as garfish, lightly batter and deep fried into perfection, paired with shiso tempura and served along with the tempura dipping sauce, grated radish and salt. They were cut into smaller pieces before serving, knowing that we were sharing this. Such sweet gesture.
