Many cafés blooms up in Cheras area recently. Good to see an amazing growth in Cheras neighbourhood, so that I can hop out more often without traveling far.

A hearty modern café and dining that takes up the first floor of the premise, here in Taman Cheras or Yulek (for a more familiar saying). CHUMS is a humble place on the outside; with black coloured outlook wall that one wouldn’t put an extra eye on it. As you walked up the staircase, you will be enlightened with the sign that is touched with geometric art. As you entered into the café, the ambience is cosy with warm lighting; pleasant with dried eucalyptus leaves scented the dining area.

The menu is filled with some local inspired dishes, pretty interesting. On some days, you may find Bahn mi made of Housemade baguette and burgers on the menu too.

Do complete your dinner with CHUMS Dessert Platter where you will be able to sample their signature cakes. As for us, we didn’t ‘cos our stomachs were all filled up with the mains.

Grilled Calamari Risotto (Rm 40)
Trout roe, confit bunga kantan, local herb
A beautifully fused Italian rice dish with local herb and bunga kantan, dosed with calamari and fish roe. An interesting Western meets Asian combination that you must try, the rice was chewy and absorbed some sea essence, and fragrant with bunga kantan and herbs aftertaste.
