Spicy, Sweet, Peanut-y…

Hello peeps! Sorry for abandoning here for long. I just came back from a trip to Kunming, China. It was an amazing trip. Hmmm, except for some of their cultures. Ahh well, I still enjoyed it max. Will share about the self-planned trip soon. But before that, let’s check out the latest menu in …

Goku Raku Ramen

Goku Raku Ramen is famous for its “Horikiri Style” ramen, which is discovered by noted ramen connoisseur, Mr. Teruhisa Shimizu. This special “Horikiri Style” blends well with the delicious pork, chicken and fish mixed broth, as well as Shio (salt) and Shoyu (Japanese soy sauce) soup base made by the chef. The broth is then simmered for long hour to create the rich and tasty flavour that goes so well with their daily fresh-made ramen.

Yaki Gyoza (Rm 9.9)
Classic pan-fried minced pork dumpling served with miso tare and shoyu tare. The gyoza was crunchy on the outside and fat and juicy on the inside. One of the must have when dining in a ramen or Japanese restaurant.

5 Star Kakuni (Rm 26.9 for regular portion)
Ramen topped with homemade braised pork belly, spring onion, bean sprout, bamboo shoot, lava egg and kuro oil (black garlic oil) and finally drowned with the fragrant shoyu soup based that is cooked for more than 12 hours. And the secret in this soup – the Japanese fish powder and the touches of kuro oil to create the fragrance in it.

Tan Tan Ramen (Rm 13.9)
Dry ramen topped with stir-fried minced pork, shredded cucumber, spring onion, sesame seed and pine nut. You can always add on soft boiled egg for extra ohmmmp.

Homemade Gokuraku Ramen Meatballs (Rm 5 for 5pcs; Rm 9 for 10pcs; Rm 17 for 20pcs)
A pretty addictive pork meatballs that is dressed with their homemade sweeten and caramel-liked sauce. The meatballs were bouncy and firm even after deep fried. Seriously very addictive and I would love to have all by myself. Ah well, this is great for sharing, order a large portion if you are coming in a big gang.

If you are coming in a huge group, try on their Course Meal sets which are available at dinner time. These sets are priced from Rm 59.9 to Rm 119.9. We get to sample their Set C (Rm 119.9) which is quite value for money. This is enough to cater for up to 4 pax. It consists of Edamame, Aburi Char Siew, Chef Recommended Salad, Pork Loin Rei Shabu, Tori Momo Karaage, Crispy Shrimp Mayo, Siew Mai, Ebi Chilli, Sweet and Sour Pork, Boiled Gyoza, Sesame Balls, 3 servings of Garlic Rice or Mini Ramen and the day’s dessert. We had the Annin Tofu –Almond Pudding. Well, I have to say, those who love almond will love this but those who dislike it will hate it. I love almond, gimme more of this!
