Came all the way from Tokyo with their first Malaysia’s outlet in Mount Austin, Johor and the second outlet here in Isetan The Japan Store Lot 10; Tabushi Ramen offers a variety of ramen options with their special tonkotsu broth base; Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen and Katsuo Ramen are their bestsellers.

Shoyu Ramen (Rm 24)
I had this shoyu ramen that came with springy noodles in a bowl piping hot tonkotsu shoyu broth, topped with ajitama, roasted pork belly, bamboo shoot, greens, garlic bits oil and chopped leeks. I adored that tonkotsu broth. It was soupy, creamy and thick, nicely balance and packed with savoury umami-ness flavour and there were some pork fats too. Noodles were at the decent chewiness texture that I like; adsorbing the flavourful broth and slurp them up in one go. Yum. Quite a satisfying bowl of ramen to me! One of my favourite bowls? Yes it is!

Katsuo Ramen (Rm 24)
Came with a piece of nori (seaweed), roasted pork, bamboo shoots and ajitama in the darker coloured broth. This bowl of ramen has a more complex flavour as there is this house’s special bonito flavoured oil added in, which is also the Tabushi’s special. This bonito flavoured oil gave a mild sea essence which is then balanced well by the porky broth tonkotsu. It can be slightly oilier to the earlier version but more rich due to the bonito oil.

Miso Tsukemen (Rm 26)
Tsukemen or the dipping noodles is available too. This Miso Tsukemen is served with a bowl of richly flavoured thick broth for dipping. Very thick and rich I would say, on the saltier side to my liking.
