“Sip On This” @ Mount Pleasure, The Five KL

“Sip On This” by Corevino X Mount Pleasure X Boutiq Wine

Located at The Five in Bukit Damansara, Mount Pleasure is a wine bar tucked in between Feeka and Pizza Mansion!

Spotted this “Sip On This” event by Mount Pleasure in collaboration with Boutiq Wine and Corevino. One get to sample the tasting pour of 8 labels of white wines, with unlimited food served by Pizza Mansion. Priced at RM 100 per pax (RM 116 tax in). Without hesitation, I dragged the ladies to go with me. I was very happy as the two ladies layan me LOL.

Big fan of white me was indeed very happy with the labels and had them to pair with pizza. I’d found a few new one l like and I guess the crowd pleaser would be the German Riesling – Schloss Johannisberg 50 Riesling for its soft hint of sweetness with light fizziness on the palate but a lil’ medium dry finishing. Just lovely. Pizza were good especially the Margherita.

I would say, it is very much affordable for the price to pay. The only thing… the pour could be a little too little to enjoy. LOL. Well… that’s about tasting portion right?!

1. Eric Texier Adele 2022; France
Vibrant and refreshing, citrusy and crips. Lovely start for the day, I almost finished it up in one gulps. LOL. It was just too inviting!

2. DB Schmitt Freihiet White 2023; Germany
Bright and elegant but not too much in my memory because I was busy enjoying my pizza and toasties.

3. Ciello Maremosso Catarratto 2022; Italy
A natural orange wine that went so well with the Pizza Anchovy Marinara

4. Testalonga Baby Bandito Stay Brave 2024; South Africa
Vibrant with the aroma of green apple and white peach. I like it to go with food but not drinking on it alone (personal preference eh!)

5. Bodega Tandem Casual Blanco 2022; Spain
To me it was fresh with light minerality.

6. Schloss Johannisberg 50 Riesling 2023; Germany
Hah! This could be the crowd pleaser for the night. It was fresh and inviting; with a soft hint of fruity sweetness, peachy and citrusy apple note; and a light fizziness on the palate but a lil’ medium dry finishing. Just lovely. Immediately it jumped out from the other I have tried (I feel)

7. Suertes Del Marques Trenzado 2023; Spain
It has a hint of smokiness with a long finishing. Found out that this is from Canary Island, rich in volcanic soil and the grapes are grown in the cordon trenzado training system, just like what shown on the label.

8. Rafael Palacios Louro 2023; Spain
Very elegant with a mineral finish and ended with a touch of creaminess. Wow. It has a lot of depths. It is something that has not been registered into my wine journal memory. Truly I am a newbie in white wine, I do need to learn a lot more about it.
