Blue Reef Fish & Chips @ TTDI, KL
The recent new opening fish and chips place in town has been driving me and my friend crazy LOL. We were chatting about it and it made us craves so much for the battered flaky crisp fish and sinful golden texture with warm interior chips (or fries).
My friend and I wanted to visit the two hot topics fish and chips places in town but sadly, both are not open on Sundays! In order to satisfy our cravings, we found out this one in TTDI , specializing in fish and chips too.
Blue Reef Fish & Chips
Located next to Pasar Besar TTDI, Blue Reef Fish & Chips took up this two-floor premise, offering the British classic Fish and Chips. They offer five fish types: Tilapia, barramundi, snapper, grouper and halibut. Pick your choice of fish and then have it cooked to your preference, either in beer battered or breaded.
If you are into a happy family of all types of seafood, you may pick up their Seafood Galore that has all their fried seafood such as calamari, prawns, fish and scallops in one platter. Besides fried dishes, they also offer salad, soup, pasta, burgers, chicken dish and pan grilled fish; great variety for those who doesn’t feel like having deep fried food that day.
I like that they also insert the price after additional of SST and service charge on each item in the menu!
Honestly, I didn’t quite expect this place can be so full house on a Sunday evening, LOL. Luckily I’d made reservation prior visit, or else I may have to wait on the line. Service was pretty attentive. We got a warm welcome from the team.
House Pour White Wine (RM 18 // RM 21.25 inclusive of SST and service charge)
Garlic Prawns in Marinara Sauce with House Bread (RM 28 // RM 32.5 inclusive of SST and service charge)
Barramundi (RM 33 // RM 38.30 inclusive of SST and service charge)
We had our barramundi in Beer Battered. The fish is served with fries, salad and a homemade tartar sauce. The fish was deep fried into golden perfection, with puffy batter and flaky flesh, tender and juicy. I like the malt vinegar on the table; it gave a tang to the every forkful of the deep fried pleasure.
Beer Battered Calamari & Chips (RM 33 // RM 38.30 inclusive of SST and service charge)
Not too much to our liking as the batter was thicker than the calamari itself, perhaps could just stick to the fish.
