Established since 1974 and Esquire Kitchen is now 45 years old! I believe their lip-smacking dishes have accompanied many of you all these year, and mine are always their Kung Po Chicken and mantao in my childhood memory.
Starting from 1st January 2019 until 19 February 2019, Esquire Kitchen is offering the Prosperous New Year Menu to the diners. Diners can choose from 2 types of set menu priced at Rm 338 nett that can feed 6 to 8 pax or the set that is priced at Rm 238 nett which is enough for 4 to 5 pax.
Their 6-Course Prosperous New Year Menu 招財進寶 comes with Ong Lai Lai Fish, Golden Oats Prawns, Golden Sesame Chicken in Lemongrass Sauce, Red Braised Pork Belly in Prosperous Sauce, Fortune Vegetables with Vege Abalone and Happy Bean curd and Mushroom with Cauliflower.
Ong Lai Lai Fish 年年有余
The fish is deep fried to perfection and drenched in the sweet and citrusy sauce that complemented very well with the crispy fried fish, paired with many colours fruits and vegetable cuts in the dish. Fish is the must-have during Chinese New Year reunion dinner as it symbolizing abundance in the New Year!
Golden Oats Prawns 金沙笑哈哈
Fried prawns tossed in combination of deep fried oats with fresh chilies. Pretty addictive especially the crispy oats that kept me going for more!
Golden Sesame Chicken in Lemongrass Sauce 金玉满堂
Deep fried chicken with sesame mixed batter and lemongrass sauce, pretty zesty and refreshing.
Red Braised Pork Belly in Prosperous Sauce 鸿运当头
My favourite dish of the course! Look at the pork belly, evenly layered with fats and lean meat, braised in Esquire Kitchen’s special red sweet sauce until tender and juicy. It has the collagenous smooth texture that I love most! Also, gimme one bowl of rice to go with it please.
Fortune Vegetables with Vege Abalone 财源广进
Stir-fried Baby Kailan with vegetarian abalone which has both texture and taste as the real one.
Happy Beancurd & Mushroom with Cauliflower 阖家辛福
Another flavourful vegetarian dish that is a mixture of bean curd skins and mushrooms and cauliflower in an appetizing sauce.
Last but not least, do order the Yee Sang (not in the set menu) that we must toss during Chinese New Year for prosperous, good fortune, heath and wealth in the new year.
