The Uma Balinese Restaurant @ The Strand, Kota Damansara

I love Balinese food; love their tricks playing around with the herbs and spices and chili and all. I had a great experience in ole-ole bali with the others sometimes quite a long time ago. Just that, Ole-ole Bali serve halal Balinese cuisine. Hmm, what about the Balinese cuisine in non halal version?!

Stood here in The Strand Kota Damansara, The Uma is a Balinese restaurant that serves non halal authentic Balinese cuisine. The Uma offers an extensive menu, from a la carte to set meal; which is wholly in charged by the chef and owner himself. Having spent 8 years of working in Indonesia previously, finally, the owner made his dream come true by opened up The Uma and brings the bali recipe to all of us.

The 2-storey-restaurant is decorated into Balinese theme. I love where we were seated, the upstairs. With a paddy field wallpaper plastered on the wall, it was as though you were dining in Bali, laid back and comfortable dining experience.

Bebek Megoreng – Crispy Fried Quarter Duck (RM22)
On the a la carte menu, one can choose to try out the infamous crispy duck (bebek). The outer skin of the duck was very crispy and even the bones, they were deep fried into perfection! you could just munch them on. However, the meat was a lil dry. Well, still love it to go with the spicy kick sambal.

Bali’s ABC as our sweet ending; topped with lots of cendol, jackfruit, cincau and coconut. A great dessert to pull off the fire after the spicy meal
