The Fat Fish @ Mon’t Kiara Shoplex, KL

What’s the best thing on scotching hot day like this?!
To me, it’s gotta be some salmon sashimi, a rice don, and paired up with beer!
And this place, made me visited twice in a week.

The Fat Fish

Need no long introduction on this place, I believe. If you have been following most of the social media, you sure will notice this place, the deli that supplies fresh and frozen seafood and premium fresh cut meats. The seafood fares here are ranging from raw to cooked dishes, from rice don to pasta. The seafood they carry is pretty wide, eels, oysters, salmon, cod fish, scallops and … you name it.

Like I said earlier, I went twice in a week. The first time it was on a Saturday and I actually didn’t find a real wow in it. But then when I revisited again on a weekday, I actually wowed over the dishes I ordered.

Chill down the body temperature with Sapporo Beer (Rm 22.5)

Chuka Hotate Temaki (Rm 7)
Marinated scallop handroll

Salmon Sashimi
Thick cuts of super fresh, with bouncy doink doink texture on the palate; as though the live fish that just swam through the tongue.

Pan-seared Scallop (Rm 95 / 10 pieces)

Bara Chirashi Don (Rm 20)
With fresh ingredients such as salmon, octopus, cucumber, negitoro, ebikko and other fishes (depends on what’s available of the day) in cube sizes scattered all over on top of the bed of fluffy sushi rice, so yum!

This was what I had on the Saturday, which I found it lack of ohmppp. But then when I revisited, it seems different. Perhaps the later one (photo: first top) had radish added in which spiked up the sight and taste buds.

Special Don (Rm 60)
This is what I came here for!!! Uni!!! Mellow yellow Sea Urchin along with ikura and other fresh catches were the highlight on that bowl of sesame vinegar-ed rice. Of course you can order just the uni if you have some spare to spend.

One more. Coz I just can’t resist the beauty of Uni

Aglio Olio Crab (Rm 28)
Light hint with spiciness and dosed with quite an amount of crab meat.

Garlic Cream with Smoke Salmon (Rm 20)
Aromatic garlicy cream sauce pasta topped with smoked salmon. I really fancied their pasta which was done right and al dente.

Spicy Tomato Prawn Pasta (Rm 28)
