Long long time ago Hmm, actually it wasn’t that long back then, just sometimes ago… with the couples from kampungboycitygal, broughtup2share and eatonlylar, 7 of us sacrificed the beauty sleep and set our feet in the historical town – Malacca, for a day food trip.
Donald & Lily’s Nyonya Corner
We dropped by this small hut/house for a bowl of thirst quenching cendol and the tummy filling hot stuff after hours of drive. Located along Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock, they serve authentic nyonya fares that we fancy.
Mee Siam (RM 3.50)
Some may find it too sourish but I love the level of tanginess.
Spicy and sourish Vermicelli topped with fried eggs, fish cakes, fried shallots and dash of lime juice.
Cendol (RM 2.50)
With lots of fragrant and sweet gula Melaka; it was just alright to me as I find the shaved ice was rather coarse.
Nyonya laksa (RM 3.50)
Nasi Ayam Pongteh (RM 6.50)
I don’t frequent down here, and this was my very first time on ayam pongteh.
A traditional nyonya style braised chicken with soya sauce, gula Melaka (or the palm sugar) and potatoes. I could just have bowls of rice with the gravy itself. Yum…
