Kedai Makanan Kok Hing @ Taman Bukit Maluri

We discovered this dai chow place by chance during our once-a-month grocery shopping in Kepong. To be exact, it is the monthly pearl-rice-shopping and filling-up-the-rice-tank. Yes you hear me, we came all the way from Cheras to get our rice supply; simply because this rice wholesaler supplies premium quality of rice.

All right, back to topic…

Kedai Makanan Kok Hing, a dai chow restaurant (with a branch in Bentong) that is located a few door steps away from where we shop for the rice supply. It has been here for about 7 years; serving yummy Chinese fares at a very affordable price. As you can see from the photo, that is where the kitchen positioned; patrons will take their seats in the air-conditioned-shop located right opposite this kitchen stall.

Fresh fish always goes great with simple steam and drizzled with special soy sauce.

干炒花肉 (RM 12)
Pork belly slices were fried and then stir-fry in special sauce and lots of onions. Filled with lots of wok hei and it was lips-smacking good!

咸蛋苏东 Deep Fried Squid with Salted Egg Yolk (RM 12)
Squids were evenly coated with sinful egg yolk batter and deep fried into perfection! Ahhh, where else can we find this at just Rm 12 for this generous portion?!

四大天王 (RM 10)
Various type of vegetables stir-fry with sambal belacan; you will never go wrong with this when it comes to stir-fry veges

锅仔鱼腐  (RM 12)
A very home-cooked dish with tofu, fish cake, Chinese cabbages, peas and carrots; the gravy turned sweet with the essences from above ingredients.

We chatted a little with the friendly lady boss who kept filling up our tea cups. She told us she was quite sien (bored) with this dai chow stall due to the workers’ matters; she even thought of closing it down sooner or later! Oh please please please, do continue serving for us. I still wanna come here for their fresh water fish and the addictive deep fried squid and pork belly slices and… lots more of their signatures.
