Hehe, last week, together with my partners-in-crime, we drove ourselves down town to join this Merry Guinness party at El Meson, a spanish restaurant that is situated in the heart of Bangsar; played host to kick start the Merry Guinness Christmas party! Many thanks to Henry and Hui Ping for the wonderful evening.
El Meson offered 2 sets menu for their customers to choose from, one created by Masterchef Adam Liaw while the other is done by Chef Fernando Tabernero of El Meson himself. Each set menu is priced at RM 150 nett per pax with free flow of Guinness or RM 98 nett per pax without free flow of Guinness.

Warm asparagus salad with duck proscuitto, poached quail egg & hollandaise

Hello everyone, here is my new home; with a fresh look on a piece of new ‘land’.
As you can see, this blog is still under errm… construction. Please bear with it a little while on this temporary messy looking page. Everything is new to me; I am learning how to use the new things, familiarizing with them and adapting to the new functions. Sigh, I am such a slow learner.

Ben’s general food store, will be my first post up on the new ‘land’
I guess this place need no further introduction. Ben’s General Food Store and the others such as Plan B, Ricetaurant, T forty two, Ben’s … are the bright ideas brought by BIG.
The environment is very cafeteria-like; simple and clean; with long table, metal chair and vintage-y cutlery (I meant the plates they are using).
And there is chalk-board-liked decoration everywhere. One of them is written with apple crumble recipe too! Contunue Reading

As I recalled, Sri Petaling is always a food hub. We used to look around for lunch or dinner after the great walk / exercise in Bukit Jalil Park (that was years back then when the park was still pretty new and beautifully established).
Recently, Sri Petaling has got a new face. It has now expanded; with new restaurant, desserts houses, bubble tea just popped out along Jalan Radin Bagus. Guess there are more than 50 over restaurants along that road. Say, if I wanna try out one restaurant per day, I may need 2 months to complete the task!

For you who love Hainanese fares, western cuisine and Kelantanese local delights, do check out Herbs & Spices! A simple and cozy restaurant which is manned by a pair of Hainanese husband and wife; while the chefs in the house, they are specialized in both western and local cuisine.

Hainanese Mutton Soup (Rm 10.90)
The soup was well-flavored; with the additional of herbs like wolf-berries (gei zi), it was quite similar to the Chinese herbal soup but with additional of soft delicate mutton.
For Western selection:
Hainanese Chicken Chop (RM 15.90)
This was my favourite. The chicken chop was deep fried into perfection and served with french fries and coleslaw.
You can have chicken chop to be eaten alone or drizzle it with the homemade Hainanese sauce for extra kicks
