Ahhhhh, so cute!!! How am I going to eat you?!

Shirohige’s Cream Puff Factory

This café has been sitting in my MUST TRY-list for the longest time ever. I have been to Tokyo for a few times but never had the chance to make my way over.

Tucked away in a very quiet residential area, which is about 5 mins by walking from Setagaya-Daita Station on Odakyu line. It is not hard to locate this place if you have your pocket wifi with you. With the help of the pocket wifi, we managed to get there without fail. Order one from VisonData to make your travel journey smoother.

Or, follow the direction as below.

Getting there:
Take the West exit from the Setagaya-Daita Station on Odakyu line, turn right and walk along the way until you see Glaubell Coffee on your right, then turn right into the alley and walk till the end of the road until you see the TOLO Coffee & Bakery’s signboard, walk all the way straight and you may find it on your left.

We are here!!!

Such a rustic and mystery cottage-liked house. Don’t you agree with me?

Guess this is the only café that is “licensed” to make Totoro-themed desserts as I have not come across any others that serve Totoro-theme desserts. Do let me know if you found one.

Shiro-Hige’s Cream Puff Factory is separated into a take away counter on the first floor (which is the ground floor), and a café – TOLO Coffee & Bakery on the second floor; a small area which has a few tables inside. Do take note, for every sit in customer; you will have to order 1 drink per pax. If you are not ready to spend on the drinks over here, you can take out the cream puff and savour it straight at the alfresco seating outside the premise. Also, the cream puff will cost slightly higher (about ¥ 40 each) for sit-in compared to takeout.

There were 4 flavours available during our visit – custard & cream, chocolate, chestnut and raspberry & cream cheese. Glad to see the Peach Cream Puff was still on the menu as that is something seasonal! Aside from cream puff, they serve hot food such as pasta, salad too.

Matcha Latte (¥ 460) & Cappuccino (¥ 420)

We noticed, many came in and ordered all 4 types of flavours; there were 2 ladies who came alone, ordered all 4 flavours each and finished off by themselves! We found that it was a little over splurge on our first meal to have all 4 of them, so we had only 2.

We had the Custard & Cream (¥ 440) and Peach (¥ 485) cream puffs. They were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside; the ears parts were slightly harder though. The creams were very airy and fresh; the one with peach was really fragrant, lightly dosed with flavours of the momo (peach) and there were fresh peach cubes in it too!

Lovely little café. Do make plan for it if you are a fan of Totoro.
