I have been craving for a good bowl of Har Zi Lou Meen ever since my last trip to Hong Kong. The best one I have had was this one in Hong Kong. Back to KL, it is really difficult to get Har Zi Lou Meen here. Thanks to Broughtup2share’s recommendation. There is Har Zi Lou Meen in KL wor…

辉记港式竹升面

Be prepared to get spoilt with choices of food around/ at Jalan Lazat (or Wai Sik Gai) in Happy Garden. There are so many Chinese local foods here. And Fai Kee Bamboo Wanton Noodles 辉记港式竹升面 is one of them, tucked in the extended stalls opposite the row of shops.

Here at Fai Kee, one would get to try out the best bowl of Bamboo Wanton Noodles or Jook sing meen (in Cantonese); made of flour and duck egg, kneading the dough with the bamboo log to create the extraordinary bouncy noodles. I do find the noodles here are even better than Nippy Noodle Restaurant at Kuchai Entrepreneurs Park. *Personal preference*

Hong Kong Prawn Roe Noodles 香港虾子面 (Rm 6)
Something I have been craving for long. The version in Fai Kee is slightly different as compared to HK/Macau’s version. Tossed in with prawn roe and there were wantons and sauce/ gravy added in to create a slurpy and flavourful experience. I love the prawn roes in my noodles very much. Love the crunchy bits and the freshness overloaded in my bowl. Portion wise, it was quite small though. A normal eater like me will need to go for their one half portions (zek pun meen).

Wanton Mee 云吞面 (Rm 6)
Springy bamboo wanton noodles tossed with sauces and topped with fatty char siu. Not the very best char siu but this made great combination with the noodles.

Sui Kow Noodles 水饺面 (Rm 5.5)
Three huge dumplings and springy noodles served with soup catered for those who love soupy based noodles. Do slurp it fast or else the noodles will lose its bounciness after leaving for long. Of course you can opt for dried version too.
