Fancy a hot piping comforting bowl of this, now???

Another place with just a laminated A4 size paper; hah, I guess this is his signature. Yeah… a new venture by the charming Seiji Fujimoto-san after the well known Gerai Makan Japanese BBQ for yakiniku, Sanuki Udon for handmade udon and Maruhi Sakaba for kushiyaki and brooze. Here comes Lao Jiu Lou, serving the Japanese-Chinese dishes inspired from Yokohama Chinatown.

The building and interior painted in the warm hues. What you get to see is the red bricks wall, wooden tables and benches and decorated with the old school decors and red lanterns.

Tonkotsu Ramen (Rm 9)
Pork bone broth noodles that brimmed with ingredients such as cabbages, shredded carrot, minced meat, a thin slice of chashu and ajitama (flavoured egg). I love the egg very much; the egg yolk was wobbly and perfectly done. Very well flavoured too. One of the best ajitama I have had. My other favourite would be the one from Kushiyaki Kuni.

Huge bowl of springy bouncy ramen.

Toniniboshi Ramen (Rm 8)
Ramen with chicken soup and I find myself preferred this soup base than the earlier one. It was a comforting soup with lots of chicken essence in; and especially having it on a rainy night. I have to say, it was quite a familiar Chinese flavour to me with light soup base but brimmed with ingredients in a Jap way. Well, since this is the place for Jap-Chinese inspired dishes, don’t expect to have rich creamy soup base like those from the Japanese ramen chains.

Pork Gyoza (Rm 5)
Huge, plump and succulent minced pork fillings encased within a soft skin dumplings skin, served along with shredded ginger and vinegar. Delicate and juicy one, just like eating the steamed dumplings in China! Another version available is made of lamb.

Didn’t manage to munch on the spiced roast pork as my Bro and I were too full. Will be back for sure!!!
